Meet Omari Richins, MPH of The Public Health Millennial!

What is your public health occupation? I work as a Health Improvement Program Officer at the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust. In this role, I work deeply in the community to improve health and well-being, focusing on groups that have been marginalized, using an equity and population health lens. Through the Trust’s Healthy Places NC work, I am engaging with residents in some of North Carolina’s most vibrant yet underserved communities, to ensure that everyone has a seat at the table in improving their community’s health and well-being. What is your public health goal? My public health goal through my job, my platform (The Public Health Millennial), and personally is to create equitable systems change for all communities and individuals to reach self-actualization, especially the black community and other marginalized communities.
